Due to the impact of the COVID-19, the SPIED 2020 will be held online from August 22 to August 26, 2020. A total of 12 teachers and 50 students from Dalian University of technology, Northeast University, Jiangsu University, Chongqing University of technology, Yamaguchi University, Kunsan University, Chungbuk University and Inje University participated in the project. Zoom online conference was used to carry out teaching, group discussion, innovative design and work report.

A total of 9 students from Jiangsu University participated in the project, including 6 from industry center and 3 from School of Computer Science and Communication Engineering, and finally won one grand prize, two gold awards and four silver awards. The work "Smart Vegetable Room" designed by Zhu Kai of the industry center has won the special prize; the work "easy yoga with friend" by Chen Jing of industriy center and Wang Yuanlong of School of Computer Science and Communication Engineering, and "Super Posing Bros" by Wu Hao of industriy center and Deng Hao of School of Computer Science and Communication Engineering won gold prize.

China, Japan and South Korea ire organizing committee decided that the SPIED 2021 will be undertaken by Jiangsu University.
