The 7th Summer Program for Innovative Engineering Design (SPIED) was held in Yamaguchi University, Japan from August 21 to 29, 2019. Under the leadership of two teachers, 16 students from JSU participated in it. A total of 103 students from 11 universities of China, South Korea and Japan participated in the 7th SPIED.
The theme is Smart Life with AI and IoT Technology (Using artificial intelligence and the Internet of Things to create a smart life). All 16 students from JSU were awarded, including 3 highest Awards, 4 Best Technology Awards, 1 Best Idea Awards, 3 Best Design Awards, 1 Best Artist Awards and 4 Best Display Awards.
The SPIED, launched by Jiangsu University, China and Yamaguchi University, Japan, aims at sharing high-quality teaching resources, establishing an international innovative teaching platform, promoting academic exchanges and improving the engineering student’s ability to innovate. It is an international innovative engineering teaching practice program for undergraduates and postgraduates majoring in machinery, electromechanical, measurement and control, optical information, electricity, electronics, computer and so on. The program will be alternatively held in China, Japan or South Korea every summer. JSU will host the 8th SPIED in 2020.
